Freshman Academy Mission Statement 

The mission of Woonsocket High School’s Freshman Academy is to cultivate student accountability and engagement by providing high quality academic and social opportunities in a diverse, culturally positive, emotionally safe, and physically secure environment.  Thus, ensuring a successful transition to high school by establishing a culture which aligns with our core values of Respect, Responsibility, Pride, and Family.

• To ensure that students are safe and secure for their first year at the high school.
• To build a sense of community and belonging.
• To provide students with a supportive environment, both academically, socially, and emotionally.
• To develop a plan for success, college, career, and life readiness.
• To increase academic achievement and decrease retention rates.
• To increase attendance, and decrease tardies/absences.
• To provide opportunities to foster student agency.
• To provide professional development opportunities for staff.
